The Directorate General Monitoring & Evaluation has been established by the Government of the Punjab.
Name
The official name of this body is the Directorate General Monitoring & Evaluation (hereafter DGM&E).
Purpose
The DGM&E has been established for the primary purpose of identifying, developing and implementing modern Project Management practice and technology for the management and control of development projects undertaken by the Government of the Punjab. DGM&E will also be involved in the Monitoring & Evaluation of projects of Government of the Punjab. This entity will address the project management needs by focusing on the following five core areas:
Policy guidelines and standard for Project Management
Project Management Services
Project Management Capacity Building
Third Party Monitoring/Inspection
Project/Programme Evaluation
Management
It is headed by a Director General who is also a member of the P&D Board.
Structure
It has a number of wings like Project Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Operations.
It is an integral part of the quarterly review meetings of the P&D Board.
Policy and Standards
DGM&E will operate as an attached department to the P&D and will adhere to the Project Management Institute (PMI) standards that have been adopted by the Government of the Punjab.
